How we build a website…
Stage 1 – Website Design Concept
When we build a website, we always start the website design process with a visual concept of how your website will look. We take elements from your logo, branding and colour schemes to design graphics such as calls to action, backgrounds, icons and forms. We also match your font stylings and typography to ensure that your brand consistency flows throughout your website design.
At this stage, we also look at creating your website header / or your hook. We guide you through the StoryBrand Marketing concept and how people will interact with your website and engaging calls to action.
Stage 2 – The Technical Bit
Every website design needs a place to live, which is called website hosting. This is a necessary part of building a website, as, without the server space, the files that are used to create a website design would have nowhere to be stored.
WordPress is installed onto your server space, and a starting theme is purchased and also installed.
We help in the selection and registry of a domain name for you and manage all the settings, setup and configurations necessary. Don’t worry if you have registered your own domain name, then we still manage everything for you. We then link your domain name to look at the dedicated server space where your website design will be hosted.
Once the website hosting space, WordPress Installation and Domain name are all linked up, we can start to build a website.
Stage 3 – Building a website
We combine The Design Concept and The Technical Bit and begin to build a website. We start from the installed WordPress theme, stripping out any existing elements and adding in the settings for your own colour scheme, typography, logo files, social media links to name but a few.
We then build the website pages using the agreed sitemap and set up the website menu and submenu, again setting fonts and colours required.
The home page of your website design is created first, to match the website design concept, adding in your content, images and photography, as well as that important header and calls to action.
Stage 4 – Your content is added
Now the website design is starting to come together, we add your content into all the pages. We will add the graphic elements that we have created to enhance your branding on the pages. As with our logo designs, we want your website design to look professional and be personalised just for you. We want you to succeed.
We also edit your photos to ensure they look their best, although we would always recommend professional photography, we do understand this might not always be possible.
As we build each page, we also take into account your desired search engine results. We use the Yoast Plugin to help with the websites SEO. Each page has its own Keyword or Search term, which can be backed up by your website text or copy. Alt tags are added to all the images featured on the page.
We can help you with copywriting and SEO packages as part of our Marketing service.
Stage 5 – Take a test drive
It is now time for you to take the website for a test drive. We send you all the details to view the site as a website visitor would see it, and you can test all elements of it. Take this opportunity to show it to your friends and family for feedback. It is also a good idea to look at the website on a variety of devices, including laptops, phone and tablets. Get the full ‘visitor’ experience to your website, as well as making sure that everything looks as you wish.
There are usually some tweaks and adjustments and now is that opportunity to make those changes. Once you are happy with the website design and how it performs, then we try to break it.
Stage 6 – Why we try to break it
The last thing we want is for a visitor to your website to experience a broken link. We sniff out any missing images or graphics that may not be loading. We don’t want anything to put off a valuable website visitor. By putting the website through a series of checks, we can make sure that everything works as it should. It should also look perfect on all devices and browsers. We will check the forms on the website with yourself, to make sure you are receiving enquiries. Any adjustments or bug fixes that we find will always be corrected prior to the website going live.
Stage 7 – Going live
Once you are happy delighted with your website design and build, then we can put the website into Live Mode. The website will be registered with Google and linked to your Google Analytics account so you can monitor its progress. Whenever we finish building a website and have pressed it live, we then offer all clients an hours training. This training will show you how to make tweaks and adjustments to your website. Also we show you how to write a blog and include your own keywords.
You can now share your website with the world, write your blog, post links to your social media platforms. Show off your website to the world.
Stage 8 – Business Review
All our website design services come with basic SEO. We will keep you monitored with its progress on your chosen SEO search terms and keywords. After your website design has been live for 3 months, we will invite you to and visit us. During this meeting we can review your business progress, the performance of the website, and how else we can help your business succeed.
